Located on Long Island NY is the first suburban County in the Country; Nassau County. In this County of Nassau there is a one square mile town called Roosevelt; a town rich with culture and history that is unmatched by most standards. It's uniqueness is legitimized by it's claim to be the home of Howard Stern, Eddie Murphy, Public Enemy, Gabriel Cassius, Steve White,

Dr. "J" Julius Erving, Carolyn Harding, Brigadier General George A. Jones and

Rev Richard P. Warren Etc...

It's no accident that these individuals have represented this town well as it's culture has exemplified a hot bed of talent, leadership and productivity around the world. After some years of economic down turn from the relocation of residents from southern origin and the settling in of its new diversity, Roosevelt is back on the move again. With the recent induction of Public Enemy into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the renaming of it's main road to Julius Erving Avenue., the of town of Roosevelt is poised for the level of growth and revitalization of well set goals put forth by it's predecessors. Thereby yielding to the mantra "We Are Standing On The Shoulders Of Our Past In Order To Build a Better Future"...

President,

Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce

What is a Chamber of Commerce?

The Chamber of Commerce is an action agency designed to meet the community or area needs. It is a voluntary organization of individuals and

businesses who band together to advance the commercial, financial, industrial and civic interests of a community or area. Among other things, it is a civic clearinghouse, a public relations counselor, a legislative representative at the local, state, and national levels of government, an information bureau and a research and promotion medium.

The Chamber's activities are virtually unlimited, depending on community needs and the desire and ability of the Chamber to meet those needs. Its overall mission of community development is determined by the organization's program, its goals, usually called a Program of Work, Blueprint for Action, Goals for Progress, Action Agenda or similar title. Roosevelt, over the years, has experienced economic deprivation and the lack of incentive to rebuild.

The Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce has taken on the responsibility of being the catalyst to change the trends and meet new economic goals.

Based on a desire to promote a more favorable business climate and a positive quality of life, the Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce is bringing a variety of businesses within the community closer together by forming an even stronger and more cohesive voice of Roosevelt. The Chamber serves the Roosevelt community and will work hard to set goals to improve the business, educational, recreational, spiritual and cultural development of our community with the participation of its businesses, professionals, and community members.
